NBA Picks 11/16/2008
November 16, 2008
With the NFL on everyone’s mind on Sunday, sometimes it’s easy to forget about basketball. It would be a mistake to miss out on the premium plays that our experts are offering today on the pro hardwood. Let’s jump right in and see what our top rated NBA experts have going on.
Mikey sports has been impressive in the NBA and has two 3* plays going today. If you are looking for someone that’s enjoyed a ton of past success, Mikey Sports is the right service for you!
Jeff Alexander has been great across the board, but he’s been especially effective at making his clients money in the NBA this year. Today’s best bet from Jeff is backed by an amazing 25-5 ATS angle that’s sure to have you cashing a winning ticket!
Rocky Atkinson just picks winners. He’s been superb in the NBA this year and we know that he can make you money tonight! The Rocketman has two 3* NBA plays Sunday!
Just in case you aren’t familiar with Rocky, we thought we’d post his introduction/bio for you so you can get to know this top notch expert handicapper a little better:
My Handicapping and Betting Philosophy: I use my own unique power ratings for each sport along with trend analysis, stats and line value. I take a different approach for every sport I handicap. Keep in mind that you should think long-term profit. You’re not going to win every day, every week or even every month. If you follow my selections exactly as I release them, you will make a good long term profit in all sports and that has been proven with my results over the years. Also, don’t forget how important money management and discipline is in making serious money in this business. My Special Achievments in Handicapping: I was the No. 1 documented “Overall Handicapper” in 2004 at Professional Handicappers League. I was part of a team of experts that finished No. 2 in the famous Las Vegas Hilton NFL Superbook Contest in 2003 winning $83,300 – finishing point out of first place. I have also had several No. 1 finishes in various sports and numerous Top 5 and Top 10 finishes at several monitors. My Most Memorable Moment: I won 17-straight NBA games a few years ago. Biggest Win of my Career: I feel like every win is a big one. Back in 1998, Denver started the season off 13-0. Denver then had to play at the NY Giants whose record was 5-8 at the time. Denver was installed as 12 1/2 point road favorite. I told my clients that the NY Giants would beat Denver outright and they won the game straight up 20-16. After I released, I don’t think I had ever had so many clients call the office asking me if I had lost my mind but we cashed once again. Toughest Loss of my Career: I had a huge play on Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football a few years back and I think they were playing Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Tampa Bay had a huge lead of around 17 points or so and blew it and the cover with less than four minutes left in the game. Favorite Team(s) to Play or Fade: I really don’t have a favorite team to play or fade. During the season you will find teams to play on or to fade until the oddsmakers catch up with you. Everyday gives you a unique opportunity and I never know if I will play 10 games or pass until the card is handicapped thoroughly. What You Can Expect From Me: I am very selective with my premium plays. I research the entire card finding the plays that make me a winner year after year. I am one of the few honest services in the business filled with scammers. My ability to pick winners consistently is second to none and with my money management system you will maximize your profits week in week out.
Thanks and good luck today!

Friday we have all kinds of free plays in the NBA. Be sure to check out each cappers’ page to see the other games they are on today.
First up we have our #1 overall ranked capper, John Martin:
Martin’s Friday Free Play:
1 Unit on Miami Heat -6.5
The 1-5 Washington Wizards travel to Miami tonight to battle with Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat. The Heat have been solid at home this season, which leads me to believe they will have no troubles overcoming this spread at home Friday. Miami is 3-1 in home games thus far, scoring 101.0 points/game and allowing just 89.5 points/game. That shows that are outscoring their opponents at home by 11.5 points/game. The Wizards have just one win on the season, and it can largely be contributed to a pair of key injuries they haven’t been able to overcome. Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood have each missed every game this season. Dwayne Wade has scored at least 30 points in each of his last four games overall. The Wizards do not have an answer for Wade. The Heat are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. But the main thing here is that Miami is winning their home games by an average of 11.5 points/game, while Washington is winless on the road and losing their road games by an average of 13.7 points/contest. This one is a no-brainer folks. Cash in with Miami as the favorite.
Next up we have the Black Widow with his free play on the Thunder/Knicks tonight:
Black Widow Free Pick:
1* on New York Knicks -8
The New York Knicks broke a franchise-record with 19 made 3-point shots last game in a 132-103 beating of the Memphis Grizzlies. Although we don’t expect those kind of numbers again tonight, the Knicks will have no problem beating up on the Oklahoma City Thunder by double-digits Friday. The Thunder are scoring just 88.0 points per game this season. Now they are playing without their best player in Kevin Durant, who suffered an ankle injury a couple games back. The Thunder lost 92-109 to the Orlando Magic at home last game without Durant on the floor. But it’s not like the Thunder are much better with Durant anyways. Oklahoma City is off to a abysmal 1-7 start to the season and they are losing by an average of 9 points per game. The Knicks have won 4 of their last 5 games overall, shooting better than 48% from the field. Oklahoma City is shooting just 39% from the field during that same span. The Thunder are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 Friday games. The Knicks are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Friday games. Take New York and lay the points.
Jimmy Boyd has a monster day going on the premium side, here’s what he’s got for tonight’s free NBA play:
1 Unit FREE PLAY on New Orleans Hornets -7
I like the Hornets to cool the Blazers off tonight. New Orleans is 3-0 SU and ATS the last three times the Blazers have visited. New Orleans is 15-5 ATS in home games when playing against a good team (Win Pct. 60% to 70%) over the last 2 seasons, 18-5 ATS in a home game where the total is between 190 and 194.5 points over the last 3 seasons, and 27-12 ATS after a game where they failed to cover the spread over the last 2 seasons. New Orleans dug themselves a big hole in their last game against LA before exploding to make that game somewhat interesting. The Hornets will learn from that performance and jump all over Portland right out of the gate tonight.
Free NBA Picks 11/13/2008
November 13, 2008
Let’s start things off today with a free pick from Jeff Alexander. Jeff is currently ranked #2 overall in our standings and he’s looking to dominate yet again tonight and this weekend! Here’s Jeff’s free NBA pick for Thursday:
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Golden State Warriors +4.5
We’ll take Golden State in the home dog role tonight baring in mind the struggles the Pistons have had in this match up. The Pistons are 3-11 ATS in the last 14 meetings and 1-7 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Golden State. The Warriors are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Eastern Conference while the Pistons are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. This Pistons team is not built to play run and gun basketball. Take the Warriors at home as they push the tempo tonight.
We also have a ton of action from our top rated NBA handicappers. Starting with Mr. East who has found a serious line flaw in tonight’s action and will turn it into cash for the weekend, get your piece of the easy winner.
Tony George is also looking to cash a big winning ticket tonight with his TNT Late Steam NBA Winner:

Tons of action tonight in the NBA with several of our experts offering free winners Wednesday! Let’s jump right into the free picks! You can click on the handicapper’s name to visit their page and purchase their premium picks for the night!!!
Black Widow Free Pick:
1* on Atlanta Hawks +10.5
The Atlanta Hawks continue to get no respect tonight. All the Hawks have done is win their first six games of the season for a 6-0 record. This is a team looking to get revenge on the Boston Celtics after they were knocked out of the playoffs in a 7th game over the summer. Atlanta is the real deal this year and they are getting great contributions across the board. Al Horford recorded a career-best 27 points and 17 rebounds in a 113-108 win over Chicago on Tuesday. But with guys like Mike Bibby, Josh Smith and Joe Johnson leading the way, it’s easy to see how the Hawks have been so dominant to star the season. Atlanta has won the majority of their games away from home, making their undefeated record even more impressive. The Hawks are 4-0 on the road this season where they are limiting their foes to just 89.2 points per game. This kind of defensive effort gives Atlanta a good chance to keep it close, and perhaps pull off the upset tonight over the defending NBA Champs. Take Atlanta and the points.
John Martin’s Wednesday Free Play:
1 Unit on L.A. Clippers -7
The L.A. Clippers are finally healthy and you will now see this team start to play up to their potential. Marcus Camby and Baron Davis are back on the floor after missing some time early in the season due to injury. It all came together for the Clippers in a 103-92 home win over the Dallas Mavericks in their last game on Sunday. The Clippers have now had a couple days to get ready for tonight’s home game with the Sacramento Kings, who are really banged up right now. After losing to the Pistons 100-92 at home last night, the Kings are now asked to play on back-to-back nights when they travel to L.A. Wednesday. The Kings will be asked to try and be competitive tonight despite playing without 3 of their best players in Kevin Martin, Quincy Douby and Francisco Garcia. This trio makes up the Kings’ best 3 scorers and Sacramento will not be competitive tonight without them. The Kings are 0-4 on the road this season, getting outscored by 20.0 points/game. Sacramento hasn’t even showed up when they’ve traveled away from Arco Arena. This game will be a blowout from start to finish where a banged-up Kings’ team has no chance of competing against a healthy Clippers’ squad led by Baron Davis. Cash in with the Clippers as the favorite.
Good luck with all of your NBA bets tonight!

Plenty to get to in the NBA today with seven games on tap. First we want to give you a look at one of our best NBA handicappers has going last night. Here’s what you missed out on from Mr. East:
I’ve certainly been in the Pacers corner, and looked to them to be a play on team early, but the oddsmakers have completely over adjusted the line in this one. The Pacers were a double-digit favorite just once last year, and that was to the depleted Miami Heat who lost to double-digit lines just about every night out. The Pacers are out of the gate strong, but with that said they are just 2-3, and are not a playoff caliber team. Last year they won a total of 7 home games by 12 or more, which certainly tends to portend value in this one. Oklahoma City has just 1 win in 6 games but they have covered 4 of them, and their biggest losses on the season have been by 13 to Boston, and 12 to Houston, which says they can hang around here. The Thunder has won 6 of the last 8 meetings so they have been a nemesis to the Pacers over the last 4 years, and the margin between these teams hasn’t grown to double-digits in my opinion. This team is just 6-28 in their last 34 games, but they are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games, vs teams that did not make the playoffs last year, very telling, I’ll back the Thunder here.
Mr. East has been dominating with his NBA picks so far this season! He’s hit 5 of his last 6 overall and 4 of his last 5 Top Plays of the day! Tonight, East has a 4**** Play of the day going in the NBA that’s sure to be your best bet!
For those of you that aren’t familiar with Mr. East, he’s a capper you want to get to know! Here’s his personal Bio:
My Handicapping and Betting Philosophy There are a vast array of handicapping styles, and some adhere to part of them, but I adhere to all of them. I utilize countless systems I have developed over the years, along with emotional, situational, and motivational factors. The one thing I have been able to do with tremendous accuracy is make my own point spreads. I make them before the next day’s game, so I am not influenced by what happened in one game. I am able to spot line value, and exploit it with success. The one thing I don’t do is waste selections, for the sake of having one. The only games I will ever put out, are those that I have handicapped countless different ways, and are deemed to create a high likelihood of beating the point spread. The fact you read this, is its own compliment, and I know you have many choices. Thanks for allowing me to show you a winning approach. I’d be glad to assist you in anyway I can, and look forward to showing you my commitment, and dedication, for something I not only do for a living, but with passion, and success! Best wishes on a profitable year in the world of sports! My Handicapping Experience 25 years My Special Achievements in Handicapping My love of sports and crunching numbers, has allowed me to be able to consistently have a winning percentage of over 55%. I’ve exceeded +100 units in a season in all sports from NCAA Bowl games, NBA playoffs, college basketball, major league baseball, and NFL football.
Good luck tonight with your NBA bets!

Monday Night Football is a bit of a downer this week with the horrible 49ers playing at the Arizona Cardinals, but there are some good games going in the NBA. One of those games is the Phoenix Suns against the Memphis Grizzlies and we’ve got one of our top cappers, Jack Jones, with a free play on the game. Jack’s got plenty going on tonight with his one and only Monday Night NFL Parlay of the Year! In addition to this can’t-miss play, Jack has the number one play of the night in the NBA with his premium best bet, an NBA Blowout! Now, here’s what Jack has to say about the Suns/Grizzlies tonight:
Phoenix/Memphis 11-10-2008
Even though the Grizzlies lost by 10 to the Nuggets yesterday, I’m going to back them here tonight against the Suns as they close out their road trip here against Phoenix. Rookie OJ Mayo really came into his own last night with 31 points and eight rebounds. The Grizzlies have alternated wins and losses through their first seven games of the season, and while I don’t see them doing that here tonight, I do think they keep it close against the Suns. A big reason for that is that this team is playing defense, holding opponents to under 42% from the field. While Memphis hasn’t been able to score very many points of their own, with the Suns weak defense out there this shouldn’t be a problem tonight. Nice system here backs us up: play on road underdogs who are playing their second road game in two days, after compiling a losing record a year ago. 26-9 (74.3%) over the last five seasons. Predicted Score: Phoenix 102, Memphis 95
Our #1 rated capper of the past week has been Jay Todd. Jay has been on fire in the NBA this season so we wanted to share his NBA picks from last night with you so you can see what you’ve been missing out on!
JAY TODD’S PREMIUM NBA PICKS FROM SUNDAY 11/9/2008
Two of the best teams in all of the NBA square off. Both teams will bring their A games and will rise to the occasion in this big showdown.
The Lakers are averaging nearly 106 points per game on the season. They have so many weapons that can beat a team, that not even a defensive team will be able to hold them in check.
Houston, like LA, has many players that can score. Tracy McGrady leads this balanced offensive team. Look for him to have a huge game as he will try to lead this team to victory in this big time game.
Both teams have many weapons that can beat you on offense. This posted line is way too low. Play the UNDER 187.5 between Houston and the Lakers.
The Raptors will look to get back on track after losing two straight. Toronto opened the season 3-0, but has struggled in their last two games. Look for them to come into this game ready to get an easy win over an average Charlotte team.
Chris Bosh will be able to have a huge game in this one. Charlotte will not be able to match up with the size and athleticism of Bosh. He is averaging 26 points and ten rebounds on the season. Look for him to continue to put up big numbers in this one. Jose Calderon has been quite the surprise so far this season. He is averaging close to 17 points and nearly ten assists so far. It is easy to say he has been one of the best point guards in the NBA so far.
The Raptors will be able to hold the Bobcats in check. Charlotte struggles to score and times and Toronto will be one of the best defenses they have seen all year. Play Toronto -3 over Charlotte.
That’s all for today! Good Luck!
Free NBA Picks 11/8/2008
November 8, 2008
Basketball usually takes a backseat to College Football on Saturday’s, but sometimes it’s the best day of the week to find some great value plays. For today we’ve got just one free pick from one of our top handicappers, Mikey Sports, but we also want to give you a taste of what you missed out on last night with our #1 Ranked NBA Handicapper, Ben Burns last night as he went 2-0. Here are Ben’s NBA plays from last night:
I’m playing on Memphis and Golden State to finish OVER the total. I successfully play on these same two teams to finish ‘under’ the total just a few nights ago. The final score stayed below the number by 30+ points as Memphis won by a score of 90-79. That result has helped us tonight. For starters, tonight’s over/under line is now several points lower, giving us plenty of additional line value. Additionally, the revenge-minded Warriors will be sure not to take the Grizzlies for granted here and will look to run them right out of the building. Note that Golden State has seen the OVER go a highly profitable 56-29-1 (66%) the last 86 times that it was facing an opponent which defeated them in the previous meeting. Monday’s game was at Memphis, where the Grizzlies were able to dictate the tempo. Tonight’s game is in Oakland where the Warriors will be able to push the pace. While the Grizzlies have played well defensively so far, it should be mentioned that they gave up 100 points at Sacramento last time out. Note that the Warriors are a lot more dangerous offensively than the current version of the Kings. Looking at Golden State’s last 20 home games and we find that ALL 20 of them produced a minimum of 204 combined points. The last four visits by the Grizzlies have seen combined scores of 217, 220, 239 and 233. Look for them to eclipse the 200 mark again tonight. *Annihilator
I’m taking the points with NEW JERSEY. Adding Allen Iverson certainly makes the Pistons more dangerous offensively. However, they were already playing very well and the change in chemistry may take some getting used to. Even Iverson acknowledged: “It’s definitely going to be a work in progress. I’d be lying if I said the chemistry will be there right off the top.” Additionally, there’s often a bit of “standing around and watching” when a new superstar joins the team. Regardless of whether or not that proves to be the case, I feel this line is too high. The Pistons are coming off an “upset” win at Toronto and they typically aren’t very profitable in that situation. In fact, they were just 5-14 ATS the past two seasons when coming off a SU win as an underdog. While they’ve had some trouble with the Pistons recently, the Nets are still a healthy 26-16 ATS their last 42 games against the Central. Still searching for their first home win of the season, I look for them to give a huge effort here, earning at least the cover. *Best Bet
Our free play is from Mikey Sports today. Mikey is on the Phoenix Suns -6 over the Milwaukee Bucks, but at this time has not given his analysis for the pick.
Have a great day today! Good luck!
NBA Picks for November 7th, 2008
November 7, 2008
Plenty of NBA games on tap for Friday. We’ve got three free picks from our hottest NBA handicappers.
First up once again is John Martin. He continues to be on top of our leader boards as the #1 overall ranked handicapper. He swept the board on Thursday with VA Tech and the Over in the Broncos/Browns game and tonight he’s pegged his 5 Unit WAC GAME OF THE YEAR! He’s going for an undefeated record in college football this week, but he’s all over the NBA as well and has a free pick out on the Atlanta Hawks, here’s the play:
Martin’s Friday Free Play:
1 Unit on Atlanta Hawks -3
The Atlanta Hawks may be the surprise team in the league to this point. Atlanta gave the Boston Celtics a run for their money last season in the opening round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs by forcing a Game 7, and that momentum has carried right over into the start of the 2008 season. Despite starting the season 3-0 this year, the Hawks are still getting no respect as just a 3-point home favorite against the Toronto Raptors Friday. Joe Johnson scored 24 points as Atlanta had five players in double figures during Wednesday’s 87-79 victory at the New Orleans Hornets. Johnson leads the team in scoring at 28.0 points per contest. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. I will gladly ride the Hawks’ bandwagon tonight as a small home favorite when they have yet to lose a game. The Raptors are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Raptors are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 Friday games as well. Atlanta continues to be underrated tonight despite their fast start. Cash in with the Hawks as the favorite.
Next up we have the Black Widow, who has a nice write up and his pick on the New Orleans/Charlotte game!
Black Widow Free Pick:
1* on Charlotte Bobcats +7.5
It has taken some time for the Bobcats to get accustomed to new head coach Larry Brown’s system, but this young team is starting to show signs of life. Each member of the starting five scored at least 13 points in a 3-point loss to the Knicks las time out, and rookie D.J. Augustin came off the bench to add 14. But 18 turnovers cost the Bobcats’ a chance to win, and we look for Charlotte to take much better care of the ball at home tonight against the New Orleans Hornets. Brown has his team buying into the fact that defense wins championships. The Bobcats have already showed improvement on this side of the floor, holding their opponents to 96.2 points per game. The Bobcats are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games playing on 1 days rest. The Bobcats are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss. The Hornets are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games. The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. Take Charlotte and the points Friday.
Jimmy Boyd is last, but certainly not least with his analysis on the Dallas/Denver game tonight. Jimmy dominated last night with his NFL AFC Game of the Year on Denver! For tonight he’s got the side on Fresno/Nevada and 2 premium NBA selections! Here’s what he had to say about Dallas/Denver tonight:
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Dallas Mavericks +1
Denver is now just 1-3 on the season with its only win coming against the lowly Clippers as defense continues to be the weakness of this team. Dallas is 2-0 SU and ATS on the road this season and has an extra day of rest on the Nuggets coming into this one. The Nuggets are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss. It doesn’t matter if Billups is able to go or not for the Nuggets as there is going to be an adjustment period. Denver likely stakes a small step backwards before it can move forward. Take the Mavs.
GOOD LUCK FRIDAY!
NBA Picks for November 6th, 2008
November 6, 2008
Just two games on the docket for the NBA tonight, but there’s no reason you can’t cash in on both games with our free NBA picks for Thursday. Each day we’ll be providing free NBA picks from the hottest handicappers around. Let’s go right ahead and jump into the picks for tonight.
Our first free pick comes from Jeff Alexander, currently the #2 ranked handicapper overall. He’s all over the Orlando/Philadelphia game, here’s what he has to say:
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Philadelphia 76ers +5
I love the 76ers catching 5 points in this major bounce back spot after getting blown out by Miami. Plays on any team (76ers) off an upset loss by 10 points or more as a favorite, team that had a losing record last season are 32-6 ATS since 1996. Also, plays on road underdogs (76ers) – tired team – playing their 2nd road game in 2 days, team that had a losing record last season are 25-7 ATS the last 5 seasons. We’ll ride a pair of very strong systems to a cover tonight.
The other game going tonight is the Houston Rockets against the Portland Trailblazers. Our featured handicapper for this free Pick is Mikey Sports. Mikey is new to our group of handicappers and hasn’t yet given a preview on tonight’s game, but he is on the Houston Rockets -5 to beat out the Blazers.
